Polyethylene (PE)
Polyethylene (PE) Polyethylene is a thermoplastic which is used in a wide variety of products. It gets the name from the ethylene monomers. Polyethylene is generally used for the plastics industry. Ethylene molecule, C2H4 is actually linked to the double bond contents, CH2, ethylene (CH2 = CH2). Polyethylene is produced by polymerization of ethylene. Different polymerization methods can be used for polyethylene polymerization such as radical polymerization, anionic polymerization, ion coordination polymerization and cationic polymerization. Each of these methods provides different types of polyethylene production.
